BGRIMM Technology Group (formerly Beijing General Research Institute of Mining and Metallurgy) was established in 1956, and is now a central enterprise under the management of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council. It is one of the first innovative enterprises in China, undertaking a large number of basic, strategic and forward-looking scientific research tasks, and building first-class production lines in China with a plant area of over 30,000 square meters. BAM is a high-tech enterprise established by Beijing General Research Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (BGRIMM), one of the large central state-owned technology enterprises, based on its subsidiary, the Institute of Metal Materials (SIMM) and Beijing Tungsten-Molybdenum Material Factory (BTMMF). The company was officially registered in November 2011 with a registered capital of 100 million RMB.
